  1. Begin by placing 6–8 fresh mint leaves in a sturdy glass. Add 2 tablespoons of lime juice and use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press the mint leaves, releasing their aromatic oils.
  2. Next, add 1 to 1½ tablespoons of simple syrup to the muddled mint and lime mixture. Stir gently with a spoon for about 15-20 seconds.
  3. Fill the glass to the brim with 1 cup of crushed ice, packing it down just slightly to create a solid base.
  4. Carefully pour ¾ cup of club soda over the ice until the glass is nearly full.
  5. Using a long spoon or straw, stir the drink gently for about 10 seconds.
  6. Finally, add a slice of lime and a sprig of fresh mint on top for garnish. Serve immediately with a straw.
