Method

Tri Tip Marinade Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl or resealable gallon-sized freezer bag, combine soy sauce, lemon juice, olive oil, and Worcestershire sauce. Add the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, black pepper, salt, onion powder, and brown sugar. Whisk or shake thoroughly until all ingredients are well-blended.
  2. Place your tri tip in the bowl or bag with the marinade, ensuring it’s completely coated. Seal the bag tightly or cover the bowl with plastic wrap.
  3. Allow the tri tip to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or up to 24 hours for maximum flavor intensity.
  4. Preheat your grill, oven, or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the tri tip from the marinade and shake off the excess.
  5. Place the marinated tri tip on the grill or skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until it reaches an internal temperature of 140°F for medium doneness.
  6. Once cooked, remove it from heat and let it rest for about 5 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.
  7. After resting, slice the tri tip against the grain into thin strips and serve.
