Cooking Steps
- Preheat your skillet over medium heat for about 3 minutes until it shimmers invitingly.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter on each outer side of the bread slices.
- Generously spread 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard on one side of each slice.
- Layer with 2 slices of cheddar cheese, 3 slices of deli ham or turkey, tomato slices, and fresh basil or spinach leaves. Place the second slice of bread on top, mustard side down.
- Grill the sandwich for 3-4 minutes per side until golden-brown and cheese is melted, pressing gently with a spatula.
- Remove the sandwich and let it rest for about 1 minute before slicing diagonally.
