Method
 

Balsamic Reduction
  1. In a small saucepan, pour in 1 cup of balsamic vinegar and heat over medium.

  3. Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
Salad Preparation
  1. Slice heirloom tomatoes and mozzarella into even rounds, about ¼ inch thick.
  2. Layer slices of tomatoes and mozzarella on a large serving plate.
  3. Insert fresh basil leaves between each layer.
  4. Drizzle with olive oil and season with cracked pepper and sea salt.
  5. Generously drizzle the cooled balsamic reduction over the salad.
