Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the spice cake mix, pumpkin purée, eggs, melted butter, pumpkin pie spice, and salt until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the greased pan and bake for 25–30 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
  4. Poke holes in the surface of the warm cake with a wooden spoon handle, about 1 inch apart.
  5. Pour caramel sauce over the cake, allowing it to fill the holes. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  6. Spread cream cheese frosting evenly over the cake and top with chopped pecans and extra caramel sauce.
  7. Chill the frosted cake for another 30 minutes before serving. Cut into squares.
