Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 160°C fan / 180°C conventional and prepare a 9-inch round cake tin with baking paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the white or golden caster sugar, self-raising flour, and cocoa powder. Whisk well.
  3. Pour in the vegetable or sunflower oil, whole milk, and eggs. Mix in the zest and juice of the orange until smooth and well combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin and bake for 45-50 minutes. Check with a toothpick to ensure it's done.
  5. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the tin for 20 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. Melt the Dairy Milk Chocolate Orange and beat the salted butter until fluffy. Gradually mix in the icing sugar, melted chocolate, cocoa powder, and boiling water.
  7. Once the cake is cool, spread the chocolate buttercream over the top and arrange the decorations to create a reindeer's face.
