- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, eggs, and 1 cup of whole milk. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth and creamy.
- Gently fold in half of the fresh, pitted cherries into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining cherries on top. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- While the cake is baking, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and 1 cup of whole milk in a separate bowl until thickened.
- Once the cake has cooled slightly, pour the thick pudding mixture evenly over the top and cut into squares.
