Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Start by preheating your toaster or oven to medium-high heat. Toast two slices of sourdough bread until golden brown and slightly crispy, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Spread a generous layer of herbed cream cheese on one side of each toasted slice.
  3. Layer 4 oz of smoked turkey or ham evenly on one cream cheese-coated slice.
  4. Add 1 cup of arugula or mixed greens over the meat, spreading it out evenly.
  5. Slice a medium apple thinly and arrange the slices over the greens.
  6. Scatter ¼ cup of toasted pecans or walnuts over the apple slices and greens.
  7. Top with the other slice of sourdough, cream cheese-side down, and gently press down.
  8. Optionally, drizzle with balsamic glaze or honey for added flavor.
  9. Slice the sandwich diagonally for easy serving.
